Buried Treasure...

I am participating in another lovely Seth collaboration. This one's called "Buried Treasure" (see the panel to the left). This quick collaboration is about digging deep to uncover some hidden gems in our own blogs. I'm choosing three of my favourite posts. All were written when my blog was actually called Art Inspiration 4 Today. My blog has changed considerably since these early postings. Back then, I was sort of blogging from an almost pedagogical point of view...and I think these posts in particular have that feel to it. Ultimately, though, my intention was to inspire... So here they are again:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Imagination factory (above). When you click on the picture above, you'll find I've linked you to the red chimney stack (to the right of the purple chimney), which sends you off to the art brain. Check out the "Drawing" link. Take a look at the ATC segment. This is designed for kids, but being a BIG kid myself, I have no trouble negotiating around this site, lol!

2) And look who featured on my blog way back in 2007...Lol!

Hello Seth! Did you know, back then, I wasn't sure if you were a boy or a girl? Go figure! You're the man!

3) Finally...a posting about one of my favourite art forms:

I was just discovering altered art!
Ahhh those were the not so long ago days....

You can thank Seth for exposing me to your lovely blog. Although I prefer to work on a large canvas, I too make ATCs and puzzle pieces. Your art is stunning and I'll be back often to see what you are working one.

great treasures you dug up! thanks for your lovely comments, I'd love to do an inchie swap! I've finished my 100 and just have to attach them to the canvas, did a trail run (thank goodness!) and they all curled like leaves in the wind agh...

Due to Seth's Buried Treasure, you can now count me 'Hooked'. I'll be back to explore, especially the part about ATC's by mail because that involves a little more work than the electronic version. I'm into more work. ;o)

Love the horse and clown painting! Debbie the tragic fashion couple have had enough of South Africa and are packing their bags to move on. I'll let you know their next destination once they are on their way.

Debrina said...

Hello again all you wonderful creative people! I must reply to Robyn over at art propelled here, as the tragic fashion couple are on the move. Here's the thing about those two: they're are snobs! They think they are so "in vogue", so it does not surprise me that they're sick of South Africa...already. Not for them, the wild plains and the sumptuous wildlife and the surging coastlines...oh no. They aspire to the great lofty heights of the New York skyline where anybody can be somebody (although they think they're past that point)...just you watch them: they're off to Elle Incorporated for the latest fashion shoot.

Oh Flora - nice to have you come visit! I'm truly honoured. Your dolls are freakin' amazing!!! I had my nose pressed right up against my computer screen when I visited I hope you realise! Lol.

And yay - I've just finished visiting everyone who left me a comment here. I have found every single one of you inspiring. Thank you so much for making my last couple of days!

hi!!!
So I could find yours! I haven't had time yet to go through the list of treasures so I am especially glad you found my blog so I could find yours!
I looked up Morpheus and he was the god of sleep, so I'll bet your theory is absolutely correct. Thanks for the kind words about my aunt.
I love the piece at the top of your post - so ethereal... and the small canvases! I just did five 3x3s for the Atlanta Art House Coop project and it was so much fun. That is so cool that you featured Seth on your blog in 2007 - I had just begun dabbling in mixed media, though I'm married to an artist, and didn't start blogging until 2008 - so much to discover.
One more thing before I go off to explore the Imagination Factory - I have a wonderful friend who lives in Bulls, near Palmerston North. We correspond frequently and she's even been to visit twice! (now it's mine turn to come to your beautiful country:). I'll add your blog to my list and be back soon! Take care.

Thanks Debrina for these three re-posts. I still appreciate the fact that you spotlighted my artwork all the way back in 2007!! Love the Art of the Imagination too. So cool. Happy that you have taken part in this collab!
