Art Fair contributions at Thermostat Gallery

The Advice Box by D.Price-Ewen 2010
(full of inspiring quotes and advice for the creative person)

I've just been accepted to exhibit in Palmerston North's first Art Fair at the Thermostat Art Gallery in September (our Spring in NZ here).  As such, I've been busting a gut trying to make items for sale.  These items are going on my exhibition table.  Exciting stuff!

Wanting the Perfect Face (D.Price-Ewen 2010)

Business card holders (work still in progress)

The Dream Box (D.Price-Ewen 2010)

Some of you may remember the last artwork from Alicia Caudle's Altered Bits Zine: Black and White.  It never sold online, so I rehashed it, and now I think its better than ever.

More to come, as I churn the work out; in the meantime, let me know what you think about this stuff!

Oh and you've probably noticed - yet another NEW LOOK to my blog.  I just couldn't work the other design to properly frame my images.

Congratulations on the upcoming exhibit! Your work is so wonderful - I'm sure it will be a smashing success. Sorry I cannot help you with blogger - I had my own battles with it last night. Argh! Theresa

Congratulations. You are both lucky to have this opportunity and talented enough to be chosen. It's a nice advertisement for us altered artists.

I really love the black and white piece. You did a fantastic redo.

Your photos are not centering because your screen is too wide. You should not have a slider at the bottom of your page. That means one of your margins, or the space in between, is too wide. Although you think your width should equal 100%, it won't if you do the code correctly.

This is why I love blogger so much - what a great way to gauge what might do well at the fair! You guys have been a great help here. The feedback on the black and white piece seems to reflect that it's a firm favourite, alright! I still love my advice box, then my pefect face one and then the black and white dream box. Ahhhh...art - how very subjective it all is!

Sometimes trashing a design works better than redoing the old one. Love the new look to your blog. Glad you figured out how to get it right. I actually reread my comment and I'm not terribly sure I was much help. I knew what I wanted to say, but sometimes saying and doing aren't in the same (brain) hemisphere!

You are a great woman artist with passion running through your veins. I hope you will post photos from the exhibition...your three words..."advice...income...passion" were meant for me as I venture into a very visible art studio in downtown Newark.
