Lots of cuffs and another shadow box

Zombie Class of 1896! (close up, above).  Image from an itkupilli collage sheet I purchased a few weeks ago.

Here's the shadow box in its entirety (above).

Close up of heart cuff (above)
and
cuff in its entirety (below)

Another cuff (she needs a name!)

And here she is in her entirety (I like that word, don't I?)

Steampunk earrings

Well, that's what I've been working on since my last posting.  I've nearly finished off a White Rabbit cuff, the rabbit image coming from my friend Alica's store, Altered Bits, but now under a layer of resin.  Actually, I thought I was the first to invent resin paper...but no, Nina Bagley got there before me, or so I discovered when looking at the itinerary for her workshop I'm attending next July here in New Zealand.  Still, the "process" is all mine! Mine I tell you!  (evil laugh) Lol.
:-(
Anyway, here he is, before I forget:
The great thing about the resin paper is that you can sew over it!  So now my collaged images etc., can be incorporated into fabric creations.  Hooray!
Who knows, maybe one day I'll offer a nice affordable (wouldn't THAT be refreshing) tutorial on the process.

So all this is made with love and fun in mind and of course, it all ends up here:

...on the 19th of September, 2010
here's their facebook link!
It's all very exciting!

Okay - How did you get the photograph of Lisa Minnelli for the earrings? Good luck with the Craft Fair!

Your shadowbox came out great. I also looked up the site you recommended and added them as a friend on Facebook. Sounds like a revolutionary group of strong women will really show us how to craft soon!

Hi everyone - phew, had a busy week doing no art. Don't you just hate that! Sick boy, hubby studying for exams. House the pits. You know how it is if you're a wife and a mummy! And maybe even if you aren't! Lol! Anyway, I'll try and get round to see you all and say HI!

Hi Debrina, your work is outstanding. Only tip I have at a show is to greet people warmly and enjoy the day. Its tough to promote your own work, but people love a story, so tell lots of stories about how your work came together. Have fun! Riki

Such a lot of work involved creating for this event - you will be rewarded when they all sell as I'm sure they will go very quickly!

Take care.

Hi everyone - so sorry if I haven't come round to see you all yet. My boy's sick with chicken pox and I'm also feeling a little worse for wear (;-( Still, time at home is time to enjoy no matter what!

Oh Debrina ...what a delicious selection of art! What I particularly like about your work is that you don't do faux vintage; you do vintage 2010 - fresh, vibrant and transformational.
