Introducing the NEXT alt.shift.craft art fair

What the Sea Takes...Assemblage by D.Price-Ewen 2010

It is that time again (last time was actually only a couple of months ago!): Alt.Shift.Craft art fair.  We're getting bigger and bolder too.  Now we're holding our stalls in the newly refurbished Square Edge - a beautiful old lady of a building (art deco) with polished wooden floors and white walls:

I've been really busy again, making all sorts of things: jewellery, small canvases, more cuffs and altered journals, gift cards and mixed media pieces - one of which, The Sea Takes (top) was inspired by the movie, The Secret of Roan Inish.  I'm really pleased with how this piece came out - the frozen charlotte sunk in resin, surrounded by seaweed, cast in a copper net and with a ship in a bottle (the secret to how the ship got in this tiny bottle is no secret - it's actually a hand drawn ship on acetate that I cut out and stuck in the bottle) and the sea inspired embroidery I did at the very top of the frame.

Altered Blank Paged Journal (Victorian lady from Altered Bit's digital collage sheets that I've turned into a fabric print)

Cuff

Cards

The poster for the fair just keeps getting better to!  Here it is in all its glory:

So that's me for another week.  Busy, busy busy! Till then folks, take care.

Thank you lovely ladies! I don't think I can sell my Sea Takes piece. It's too precious to me right now, lol! I'm actually submitting it for Seth Apter's Pulse publication, due out in 2012! He has done so wel there.
Also, Nicks - I'm sorry, but you need to drop everything, get on that plane and come over! What do you mean you're busy? Tut tut! Ha ha. Jafa - you've made me blush. Coming on by to say hi to the rest of ya!
