Close up of Ganesh's flower |
Two weeks sick already (a bad flu that has moved into my kidneys and liver), mostly in bed, has brought about a remarkable change to my artistic style. Armed with my android tablet, I spent many a day perusing blogs; crawling through websites and making discoveries via Facebook. One of these discoveries (as I mentioned in my last posting) was Lynn Whipple's "Daily Drawing Community". Although I haven't posted my drawings and sketches daily, I have been doing them daily. As a result, I have been on a remarkable journey. In fact, I feel I have almost come full circle, for in my previous life, before I discovered altered art, etc., I painted. One of the keys to a good painting, of course, is to practice your drawing.

Nearly finished... |
The more you draw, the more your individual style develops. And I'd forgotten that very simple rule. So thank you Lynn, and thank you to my bed-ridden self for making me cede my usual work-a-day busy-ness and helping me plant the seeds of a new style.

Ouch! Not the 'new' style but the crud. I'm busy matting and framing - I've a show in August and it ain't that far off.
That's an awful pretty flower you're growing there!
GET WELL!
Yes...it's the pain that's caused the most woe, Dave. Crud is an understatement! Still, every cloud has a silver lining....
So sorry to hear that you've been under the weather. But you're right . . . this cloud that you were under had a titanium lining!!! Holy Cow!! I love your drawings. What fun! Hope you're in the pink soon. Hugs, Terri xoxo
The cow will be my next drawing/painting; seeing as I'm on the Indian theme, lol!
Hi Hon - sad that you are under the weather, but glad that you are reaching new places with your art :-) Take care of you xx
Oh poor you! But I'm delighted you have found a silver lining. Loving that busty elephant! Feel better soon!
Not only are you an accomplished altered artist, you draw wonderfully. What a blessing this illness has given you. Although it is not what you would have wanted in the way of health issues, it is a true blessing in disguise if it makes you grow in your artistic endevors. This is a lovely addition to your portfolio.
So sorry to hear you have been ill Debs but at least you have been able to make that time creative! Nothing better than practising a skill and rediscovering just how much fun it is. P.S. how did you solve those blogger issues as it is driving me nuts too!
hope you are on the mend by now!!! seems being ill hasn't cramped your creative style..in fact it's blossoming like crazy..and its so damn cheerful and colorful...you are just like Mozart.. the sickness has given way to creative brilliance!

Deb- your drawings are wonderful. Are you using pastel? Love the colors and designs within each section of your works. Hope by now you are beginning to feel better and on the mend. It's great when something super comes from what seems like a terrible situation!
Hope you´re feeling better dear Deb.
Love your drawings.:-)
